About TrueWeed

TrueWeed is a project dedicated to informed understanding of cannabis use and its effects on health and well-being. Through digital platforms, we translate and share scientific research to empower healthy choices about cannabis.

TrueWeed is one piece of the TrueDrugs mission: empowering healthy choices about addictive substances and activities.

The project is rooted in the contributions of student volunteers from around the world. None of our written content or research findings are derived from artificial intelligence. We support and practice human intelligence.

TrueDrugs is a non-profit research project founded by Judith Grisel in 2025. The initiative is supported by private donations and Bucknell University.

Meet the Founder

Judith Grisel

Judith Grisel is the founder and director of the TrueWeed/TrueDrugs project. Judith’s research on the use and abuse of recreational drugs began during adolescence.

After hitting rock bottom and getting clean and sober in her twenties, she went on to earn a doctorate in behavioral neuroscience. She is now an internationally recognized behavioral neuroscientist, author of Never Enough, and professor of psychology and neuroscience at Bucknell University.

Judith initiated the TrueDrugs/TrueWeed project to make science more widely available and encourage people to make healthy choices.
